There was a big fad or craze for Yorkies that is now over, leaving Yorkie rescues full to bursting with pets needing homes desperately. Find rescues by doing a search for “Yorkshire terrier rescue in [your state].” Anyone selling puppies over the internet is probably a puppy mill owner, a puppy mill representative, a puppy mill agent or a BYB. ALL of them have poor quality puppies. Many of their pups are registered but are NOT purebred. If you want to buy a good quality, healthy, well-bred puppy, go to the: Yorkshire Terrier Club of America website and get contacts for good breeders there. Going to dog shows is another way to make contact with good breeders.
