Where are some romantic places to go in Michigan?
It might be a tad outside your 1 hour drive time, but there is a lovely little Inn on the water in St. Clair Michigan. St. Clair is about 10 miles south of Port Huron and it sits directly on the water with every room facing the water. The place is an English Tudor inspired country manor looking place. I seem to remember that it was built by the St. Clair city fathers during the depression in order to bring tourists to the area. It’s pretty fancy, and pretty romantic. You can lay in big four posted bed, open the drapes and watch the freighters slide by on their way north or south. Pretty romantic. Last time I was there the food was ok, not great; but I heard they’ve made some changes. Check on-line and you’ll find St. Clair is a neat little town and there are other Bed and Breakfasts in town.
