Where are rainforest located?
Tropical Rainforests cover only about 6% of the earths surface. You can find them in Central America, The Amazon, Southern Asia and Australia. By the way if you plan on visiting a rainforest you might want to take your rain coat and umbrella, they get over 80 inches of rain per year. Rainforests are located around the Equator and in between the tropic of Cancer and the tropic of Capricorn. The Equator is located 0 degrees latitude, the tropic of Capricorn is located 25 degrees latitude south of the Equator and the tropic of cancer is located 25 degrees latitude north of the Equator. Rainforests are located in Australia, South America, Africa and a little bit at the bottom of Asia and North America. There are many rainforest in the world; the main Australian rainforests is the Daintree. That is Australia’s main rainforests. Australia has only 4% of the world’s rainforests; South America has 51% of the world’s rainforests which is more than half of the world’s rainforests. Most of Australia’s rainforest is in the far north Queensland and in north northern territory there are a few little patches. In Queensland the rain forest starts at Townsville and ends at the tip of north Queensland. In Queensland there are 7,500 square kilometres of tropical rainforest.
