Where are orchids from?
All our orchids are from Thailand and are from both tissue culture and cuttings. The young plants are best quality and carefully selected from farms. An orchid plant usually gives its first stem when it is 8 to months old. In a year that plant will give an average 5 to 8 stems. The flowers are cut and sorted in a cool room at the packinghouse of the supplier. They are collected in special climate control trucks and delivered to the airport. The cargo departs from Bangkok at 12:25am. The flight from Bangkok on a night flight to arrive fresh the following day. The time from cutting to departing from Bangkok airport is abut 27 hours. Once consignment has landed and been checked and cleared by customs, our driver pick up the bundles and return to our packing unit where we unpack them, check each tray over and then re-pack them for our customers.
