Where are materials are located in the library?
The library’s collection is actually comprised of several collections. When you search for items in the catalog, the catalog will tell you the location of those items. The most common locations are: • Reference books are located on the first floor. Reference books do not circulate (i.e., cannot be checked out). • The Stacks are located on floors two through five (2-5). Books shelved in Stacks do circulate (i.e., can be checked out). Some bound journals (earlier issues) are shelved in the Stacks. • A – F 2nd Floor • G – P 3rd Floor • Q 4th Floor • R – Z 5th Floor • Unbound journals are located on the first floor. Unbound journals do not circulate. • Closed Stacks are located on the first floor. Journals located in Closed Stacks must be requested at the Serials Counter, which is located on the first floor. These items are only available Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Maps are available at the Reference Counter on the first floor.
