Where are biopharmaceutical production sites?
To maintain our strong performance in production of therapeutics derived from bacterial fermentation (Vienna, Austria) our biopharmaceuticals plant was inaugurated in 2005. In 2006, we received the successful validation. Our Biberach site is the world’s second largest plant for biopharmaceutical production of therapeutics derived from mammalian cell cultures, the production capacity has been doubled in 2003 with EUR 255 million investment. We can now build on two FDA – and EMEA – certified production sites in Vienna, Austria, and Biberach, Germany.
