Where are ant infestations generally located?
The black garden ant can be found throughout the UK, particularly in sandy soil areas. Most ants are common around domestic and commercial premises; worker ants tend to enter buildings through cracks in brickwork and around windows in search of food. When a rich source of food is found large numbers of ants can be found following a trail from the nest to the food source. Nest openings can be distinguish by small piles of fine soil.Pharaoh’s Ants are attracted by the warmer climate of centrally heated buildings like hospitals, hotels, apartment blocks and nursing homes.
