Giltner Hall: 4,859 mice, rats, hamsters, volves and birds. Life Science Building: 3,185 mice, rats, hamsters, rabbits, cats, guinea pigs and gerbils. National Food Safety & Toxicology Center: 1,844 mice and rats. Natural Science Building: 70 axolotls. Poultry Research & Teaching Center: 85 quails. Veterinary Medical Center: 170 rats, dogs and chickens. University Research Containment Facility: 1,470 fish, frogs, rats, mice, dogs, cats, pigs, and chickens. Veterinary Research Farm – Barn J: 11 dogs, cats and pigs.
