Where are 1042S and W-2 forms sent and when each year?
Federal W-2 forms are sent out every year no later than January 31st and Federal Form 1042S forms are sent out no later than March 15. Both of these forms for active employees/students are mailed to their departments who are instructed to distribute or to forward to them by these dates if they are not currently in the department. Terminated or inactive employees/students forms are sent to the home address on file.
