Nocturnal hemodialysis was started by Dr. Robert Uldall at the Wellesley Hospital in Toronto in 1994. After Dr. Uldalls death in 1995, Dr. Andreas Pierratos took over as chief nephrologist in the project. Because of general restructuring in 1998, the program now is run out of Humber River Regional Hospital.
