Where and How Can I get a Linux Distro?
Last updated May 27, 2005. The best way to get a Linux distro is from a friend. If you don’t have any friends, then make some! Join a Linux User Group, or LUG. All you have to do is go to the meeting, stand up to introduce yourself, then ask if anyone has an extra distro for an install. Chances are good that you’ll get a choice of distros, and even offers of help to get you a successful install! Many LUGs meet around the world in every city on a regular basis (there are four LUGs that meet weekly within a 30-minute from my house alone). Of course, buying a book about Linux almost always guarantees that you’ll also get a Linux distro!
