The ESPN Zone in downtown DC is full of Sports-themed arcade games. Dave and Buster’s at the White Flint mall also has a restaurant and arcade. The Smithsonian Zoo is a nice place for kids-they’ll love the pandas. The Spy Museum has exhibits of high tech gadgets that’ll fascinate kids (though the price is a bit steep-$20). The Air and Space Museum is the most popular Smithsonian museum. A simple walk along the National Mall is a good idea. While you’re there they can go to the top of the Washington Monument.
