A. Anything in matrimony is very specific to India its not a very global thing. It’s been adopted very well in India. When we started off, a lot of people were very sceptical. They said that it would not work because marriage is very sacred and people will not be comfortable on the Net. They said it would not work because India is a conservative country. I think that it’s difficult for people to find matches on their own and they go through different platforms to find them. They go to marriage bureaus and newspapers. The Internet is (just) another medium. Yes, it is a more open medium and it is also global. In print, you can give the information in a small space. On the Internet, your information is there for everybody to see. Girls may not want to upload their photos there. In a marriage bureau, it is more close-knit and the information is kept private.
