Here’s what About.com says – Thank You Letter Basics – Thank you letters can be handwritten, typed or sent via email. Each thank you letter should include a thank you for the interview, your interest in the jobs, your qualifications and skills, and a final thank you. Short and Simple – Keep your thank you letters short and simple, but, do use the letter to reiterate your interest in the job, your enthusiasm for the company and to sell yourself as the ideal candidate. Proof Your Letter – Spell check and proof your thank you letter. Then ask someone else to proof it for you. That way you will be sure it’s perfect.

I would not write a thank you letter at all. It seems desperate and you never know who is on that panel that interviewed you. One of them could just be “average joe” and may feel his job or a future advancement might be threatened because of a “suck up”. If you are going to be hired then I assure you that a thank you letter will not be the deciding factor. All these people who mention thanking them for the enjoyable interview are full of it.Nobody enjoys an interview and going face to face with someone who could decide your future. Just my thoughts on this.
