When writing a assignment, should all the words in the title start with capital letters?
In the title or name of a book, a play, a poem, a film, a magazine, a newspaper or a piece of music, a capital letter is used for the first word and for every significant word (that is, a little word like the, of, and or in is not capitalized unless it is the first word). In an assigment the same rules apply, so your title may look something like this: Discuss the effect of the Second World War on the poor people of France. The old fashioned way was to capitalise every first letter except for the joining word like “the”, “of” etc. Either way you should not be marked down for this. The best way is to ask your lecturer which they prefer and do it that way! Good Luck!
