When working with PITT artist pens on canvas is it necessary to fix the artwork? Should I apply varnish to protect the piece?
There is no need to apply varnish over the PITT artist pen ink since it is both waterproof and lightfast. The PITT artist pens do not require a fixative. They are designed for porous materials and on canvas the ink works like paint on top of the canvas. The pens are also acid-free, archival and smudge proof when dry.
