I’m with the others as to what exactly you are asking but…….Woolworth’s was one of the original, if not THE original Five and Dime store. Meaning is was cheap, really, really cheap. The Woolworth stores of today were nothing like the original ones from 1879 to up until the 70’s when I was a little girl going to Woolworth’s with my mother. They sold discounted general merchandise at fixed prices, usually five or ten cents, undercutting the prices of other local merchants. Which means that they were still quite affordable even after the stock market crash and during the Depression. As a kid I remember that they sold everything from candy, to clothing, to personal care products, to costume jewelry, to over-the-counter medication, to cigarettes.
