Consensus efforts between DISA FSO and Microsoft for developing Security Guidance for SQL Server 2008 is in progress. FSO expects to receive the Microsoft developed SQL Server 2008 security guidance inguidance in the fall of 2010of 2010. When assessing SQL Server 2008 organizations may use the Generic Database Checklist. However, the SQL Server 2005 STIG Checklist will provide a better measure of compliance than the Generic Database Checklist.
