When will the physical appearance of YTL banknotes be disclosed to the general public?
The physical appearance and security features of the YTL banknotes, which will enter circulation as of January 1, 2005 within the scope of transition to New Turkish Lira operation by removing 6 zeros, will be disclosed to the general public towards the end of 2004. Denominations with the same purchasing power will be issued in similar colours and designs for both TL and YTL in order to make the identification of banknotes easier and to avoid any confusion in the transition to YTL.
