When will the next Japanese/Chinese War take place?
I could picture a major war happening in Asia, but I’m not sure it would be a direct attack by China on Japan. I think it’s more likely that with North Korea’s nuclear program, both Koreas’ protectiveness of Dokdo/Takeshima, and the intense anti-Japanese sentiment taught in most Korean schools, Korea could deal the first blow, especially if the two Koreas ever reunify, they would have a combined manpower of a couple million men! Recently Japan sent a survey team to Dokdo/Takeshima and South Korea greeted them with a warship. It seems right now like war won’t happen because everyone’s so pro-peace, but all it takes is one big accident (like the sinking of a ship) to bring two countries to war. So my money is on the first battle being at Dokdo/Takeshima, and then China will get involved soon after that, most likely on Korea’s side because of strong historical ties with Korea and strong sentiment against Japan.
