When will the new new Photographic Dye inks be available?
Near the end of this month (November 2001) or the first of next month. Q: Will Epson offer new printer driver updates for use with the new Photographic Dye inks? A: At the moment, Epson does not plan to provide new printer driver updates for this ink, but will let third party RIP developers offer these updates. These third party updates will mainly address those who want to use the new inks for proofing. Greg McCoy has told Inkjetart that using the new Photographic Dye inks with the existing printer driver versions produces results that are surprising acceptable for photo display purposes (at least for two of the Epson photo papers that he tested), so many users may find they do not need custom profiles for some of their favorite Epson papers. Q: Will Inkjetart offer ICC profiles to work with these new Photographic Dye inks? A: This is a possibility.
