When will the military begin relocating to Fort Meade?
DISA is required by law to complete the move to Fort Meade by September 2011. Current plans call for DISA to start moving in phases beginning October 2010 with the relocation completion in July 2011. However, consolidating DISA headquarters to Fort Meade is a large and complex project with many moving parts, all subject to schedule changes. As the project proceeds, the BRAC office will provide periodic status updates to the workforce to keep you informed. There has been no definitive plans established that orientates the move around organizations, buildings, functions, or other characteristic; however, it is safe to say that military members will be relocated based on their current physical workspace location and directorate.
