When will the French and American neo-colonialism stop in Africa?
I have been to Africa and part of the problem is the corruption in Africa, in all aspects of African life is the norm. The Africans treat their own people like slaves. You can’t do much business in Africa without payoffs. I know you don’t believe this but the Africans have to stop stealing from one another first. In the Africa I’ve visited, nothing works, they build something and that is it. Repairs? What’s that? Go there and see for yourself. Corruption is a way of life. This corruption is not neocolonialism. But go ahead, blame others.
Why is Somalia not unified? Well this is in large part due to the culture of the Somali’s. Somali men have a image of themselves as great warriors, so they need wars to prove themselves, when they haven’t got one they make one. Over several generations they have continued blood feuds based on family murders (ala Romeo and Juliet) to the point where they wouldn’t know what they are fighting for. The various heads of clans would not be willing to sit down and resolve their differences as it would be a sign of weakness, this was shown by the outside worlds attempts to bring order to the region in the early 90’s. There is also the issue of Chat, a plant chewed by Somali’s that makes you lethargic and over time can lead to mental instability. The chewing of the plant is at epidemic proportions in Somalia and unliked the rest of the horn of Africa as there is not central government to give directions and orders, the lethargy brought on by the plant will not be ended so nothing of significanc
