When will the Eurocodes be used for bridge design?
The publication of National Annexes required for UK bridge design is now complete. The Agency expects to publish guidance and requirements for the design of highway structures using Eurocodes in a new Interim Advice Note (to be followed by the publication of the implementation standard at a later date). After the conflicting National Standards are withdrawn (currently scheduled for 31 March 2010), the Agency will specify that the Eurocodes, as implemented by the Agency, be used as the default standards for the design of highway structures on the trunk road network..
