The East Carolina University softball team will hold open walk-on tryouts Sept. 4 at the ECU Softball Field, starting at 5:30 p.m., head coach Tracey Kee announced Monday. All interested students should bring cleats, a glove, a bat, a helmet and catching gear if you are a catcher. All participants must complete a Health History Questionnaire prior to Sept. 1. The form can be downloaded on-line or picked up in the ECU Athletic Training Room, which is located on the first floor in Ward Sports Medicine Building. If the form is not completed and returned to Athletic Training personnel, students may not try out. Students also need to e-mail Coach Kee at keet@ecu.edu to confirm attendance. Included in the e-mail needs to be the participant’s name, local phone number, permanent address and position. Likely activities at the tryout will be offensive drills, defensive drills, timed base running, pitching/catching drills and an aerobic fitness test. For further information, students can contact
