When will the Community Coastcare grants be calling for applications?
In the current 2008-09 transition year of Caring for our Country, support for community organisations working on the coast is being provided through Community Coastcare grants. With the progressive introduction of the Caring for our Country initiative, community organisations working on the coast will continue to have opportunities to undertake a broad range of activities to address multiple priorities in coastal environments. Financial support for community organisations working on the coast will be available through the annual Caring for our Country business plan and there will not be a separate process for Community Coastcare. Community Coastcare is not a stand alone initiative, it is part of Caring for our Country. Community organisations and networks working on the coast can seek funding of $20 000 to $50 000 through the business plan to undertake projects that contribute directly to achieving the Caring for our Country targets.
