Lucasfilm released the classic trilogy DVDs on September 21, 2004. Your prayers have been answered. On September 12, 2006, the classic trilogy movies will be sold individually as DVDs. You will not be required to buy all three classic Star Wars films. Each will be individually priced. Each disc will contain the special-edition version of the Star Wars films and as bonus footage you will have a disc that contains the Star Wars movies as they first appeared back in theatres in 1977, 1980 and 1983.
