The Board of Education will make a decision about a balanced calendar only after information has been disseminated and feedback has been received. Following is our tentative timeline: • Information will be provided to parents, employees, and the community by mid-December 2000. • By the end of January 2001, the Board of Education expects to study the feedback received and to make a decision to either terminate discussion of a balanced calendar, or to develop a specific proposal for public consideration. • If the decision were made to develop a proposal to implement a balanced calendar, formal public hearings would be held in February and March 2001. • A vote by the Board of Education to accept or reject a proposal would likely occur in April or May 2001.
