When will the 30th annual IRISH FAIR OF MN festival be held?
August 7-9, 2009 Harriet Island in St. Paul FREE ADMISSION Join us on the banks of the Mississippi River for a three-day celebration of Irish heritage with music, dance, family activities and good craic. Since 2001, beautiful Harriet Island Regional Park in downtown St. Paul has hosted the Irish Fair. The festival is recognized as one of the most family-friendly events in the Twin Cities, one of the most authentic Irish festivals nationwide and an amazingly great time by the nearly 100,000 people who attended last year’s festival. Come by, listen to the music, watch the dancers and even enjoy a pint or two! All the activities and events at the Fair are completely FREE The Irish Fair of Minnesota is dedicated to supporting the Irish community in Minnesota. Irish Fair of Minnesota, Inc., producer of the Fair and Run with the Celts, is a 501(c)3, non-profit organization. All proceeds from the festival are reinvested Minnesota’s Irish cultural community or shared with new immigrants groups
The Irish Fair of Minnesota, Inc., is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization with a Board of Directors representing a broad spectrum of the metro Irish community. The organization produces the festival each year on the second weekend of August, supports other Irish organizations through our grant program and opportunities at the festival, supports new (non-Irish) immigrant projects through our grant program and hosts other Irish cultural activities throughout the year. Through contributions to our Legacy Fund, the Irish Fair provides an opportunity for individuals to express passion for their heritage, support the Irish cultural renaissance and strengthen the vitality of new immigrant communities in Minnesota. The Irish Fair is a volunteer-driven organization with more than 30 filled volunteer staff positions, another couple dozen folks who assist on committees and over 250 volunteers the weekend of the festival. The 30th annual IRISH FAIR OF MINNESOTA festival runs Aug. 8-10, 2008 on Harriet Island with music, sports, dancing and workshops on Gaelic language, … You may not see a leprechaun or a pot of gold, but the sights and sounds of Ireland will be on Harriet Island during Irish Fair. Musical headliners include the Dropkick Murphys, Solas, Young Dubliners and others. Family-friendly activities include sheep herding demonstrations, Ceili lessons and storytelling.
