When will TeamSpeak 3 be released, and why is it taking so long?
TeamSpeak 3 is a complete re-write of the product from the ground up. Previous versions of TeamSpeak were written in Pascal, a much older programming language with many limitations. In contrast, TeamSpeak 3 is written in C++ and not only will introduce a completely new SDK based architecture, but upon its initial release to the public will also introduce cross-platform support for both client and server for Windows, Linux, and Macintosh platforms. This is not an easy feat which is one of the reasons the dev team has chosen to take the added time to make certain that TeamSpeak 3 is everything our users and customers have come to expect in a quality VoIP product. Also keep in mind TeamSpeak 3 is introducing many new features as well as tackling many previous challenges in terms of scalability, compatibility, and of course superior voice quality. We are confident that once our product enters open beta the TeamSpeak community will agree that TeamSpeak 3 was well worth the wait. This in min
