When will supplementary prescribers be able to prescribe Controlled Drugs?

0

The Home Office has completed public consultation on proposals for supplementary prescribing of controlled drugs, including opioids, by nurses and pharmacists. Officials continue to work with the Home Office on proposals for changes to the Misuse of Drugs regulations to enable supplementary prescribing of Controlled Drugs. They are doing so in the wider context of the Shipman Inquiry report on regulation of Controlled Drugs which was published in July and a further report from the Shipman Inquiry expected later this year. Any changes to regulations are now unlikely before Spring 2005.
