When will SBP premiums stop for retirees who reach age 70 and have paid 360 months of premiums after October 1, 2008?
Retirees who fall into this category will not be charged SBP premiums beginning with the month they reach age 70 and have paid 360 months of premiums. For example, if the retiree reaches age 70 during the month of March and he has already paid 360 months of premiums, his retired pay will be increased by the SBP cost during the month of March for his payment issued the 1st of April.
