When will RSPCA come out?
Hi Izzy, Sadly, the RSPCA get lots of calls and have few inspectorate. They also get ‘malicious’ calls from neighbours who just don’t like neighbours and try to use the RSPCA to get them in trouble – somehow, they have to prioritise. Having a dog ‘tethered’ would not necessarily indicate cruelty or suffering so they would not treat the call as high priority. If you are able to, see that the dog has fresh water available and keep your eye on things. EDIT After reading your edit it seems that the dog is, indeed, suffering unnecessarily. Why not try and get a friend to call reporting the incident. The RSPCA will then have two different calls relating to the same incident and they will likely ‘up’ its priority rating. My comments may sound negative about the RSPCA but I spent a year with them voluntarily – they do a terrific job, but they do get thousands of calls.
