When will patriots hold veterans day history for breakfast?”
Local veterans will have a chance to tell students at Connellsville Area High School their military stories when the fourth annual Veterans Day program is held at the high school on Nov. 10. For the past three years, students have invited local veterans to sit down with them for breakfast at the high school. It’s a project of the CAHS Patriots, which has just received 501C3 status. If a veteran doesn’t have a student to share breakfast with, one will be chosen. Breakfast will be served beginning at 8 a.m. Afterward, the veterans and students will head to the auditorium, where former Connellsville School District Superintendent Gerald Browell, a Vietnam veteran, will speak. Veterans will identify themselves, name the branch of the military in which they served and in which conflict they served or if they served during peace time. “First of all, for the students, it’s a rewarding and educational experience,” said Linda Shearer, a teacher at the high school and founder of the CAHS Patriot
