Kittens do not lose nails/claws. They lose baby teeth, like people do. Learn to trim their nails, and also train her to use a scratching post. If they use them a lot, like on rough surfaces, they stay trimmed. Indoor cats need their claws trimmed periodically, and sometimes frequently.
