When will Mars, Saturn, and other stars light up the sky?
Mars and Saturn will line up closely around July 4th. This is called a conjunction. Jupiter is in a different part of the sky in the southeast, but is very bright. Telescopes can even pick out the giant red spot. More can be found out at this link: http://www.efluxmedia.com/news_Pleiad_of_Astronomical_Events_Take_Over_The_Summer_Skies_19680.html Venus will be visible in the evening skies during July, and Mercury will be visible in morning skies. Mercury is very faint and difficult to see. It is low to the horizon, and so must be viewed away from the city with no obstructions blocking the horizon. The Earth and Jupiter will be lining up with the Sun on 09 July. The Earth will be exactly between Jupiter and the Sun. There is nothing spectacular to see in the sky, it is just an interesting astronomical fact. I hope this helps. Sources:
