Right now I don’t think it’s physically possible for a man to dunk while jumping from the 3 point line. That’s 23 ft, 9 inches away. I don’t have the exact answer, but there are formulas using physics that could determine whether a man can jump that distance while holding onto a basketball and timing everything perfectly to dunk the ball through the basket. The record for long jump is 8.95 meters, which is 29 feet, 4 inches. To achieve maximum distance you need to jump out at a 45 degree angle but maximum height is not achieved at that angle. For a 7 and a half foot tall man who can touch the rim without leaving his feet he would have to jump approximately 48 inches high at the 45 degree angle, reaching the apex with his hand 14 feet above the ground halfway to the basket. It just seems virtually impossible. The player would have to be nearly a world class long jumper and have the best vertical leap anyone has seen, plus be 7 and a half feet tall. For a shorter player, it’s beyond impo
