When will Logport Ruhr be launched?
Logport Ruhr is a joint venture with the real estate subsidiary of the German coal mining corporation RAG. The project will develop former mining land and turn it into valuable logistics property. I am working on the assumption that we will be able to market various facilities there in 2011. Some plots will only be available from 2013/2014, but we already knew that it would be a gradual process. Logport Ruhr has not been drafted on the basis of a five year programme, but with a 1015 year horizon, with the aim of opening up new perspectives for the Ruhr Basin. In the final analysis it boils down to bringing investment to the Ruhr area, just as we have succeeded in doing in Duisburg. Please elaborate briefly on the dimensions of the project for our readers. What kind of an area does Logport Ruhr cover? If we remain realistic, then we are looking at about 300400 ha of logistics space becoming available over the next ten years.
