When will iPad be available to purchase?
The WiFi-only was launched in US Apple stores on April 3rd. The 3G models begin shipping on April 30th, with early pre-orders receiving first priority. New iPad 3G orders are scheduled to ship on May 8th. All of Apple’s launch inventory was sold or reserved in advance for pickup at an Apple Retail Store. Any reserved iPads not picked up by 3pm (local time) were sold on a first-come, first-served basis. As of May 3rd, we still are seeing iPads for sale on Craigslist and eBay for $150 or more over retail; the delay in international availability appears to be driving these prices.
