When Will Democratic Leaders Finally Reveal Their Much-Promised Plan to Lower Skyrocketing Gas Prices?
Washington (Apr 22, 2008) Later today, the Democratic Majority will bring to the floor H. Res. 1112, a measure recognizing 2008 as the “International Year of the Reef.” While no one can quarrel with the beauty and benefits of reefs, the American people know that 2008 isn’t the year of the reef; it’s the year of record high gas prices. But unfortunately, House Democrats haven’t done anything about it, even though then-Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) promised the American people in 2006 a “commonsense plan” to lower gas prices. When Rep. Pelosi first took the Speaker’s gavel on January 4, 2007, the average per-gallon price for gasoline was $2.33. According to AAA, the average is now $3.51 – and rising…fast.
