When will conformity apply in PM2.5 nonattainment areas?
EPA’s PM2.5 nonattainment designations were published in the Federal Register on January 5, 2005, effective April 5, 2005. Therefore, in these nonattainment areas, conformity under the PM2.5 standard will apply April 5, 2006. For more information on PM2.5 designations, see EPA’s website at: http://epa.gov/pmdesignations/.
