Aetna has surveyed pharmacies within our network to determine what software is currently used to transmit claims and receive electronic remittance advice (ERA). We will work with vendors to certify their products comply with the regulations. As of January 1, 2011, Aetna will begin external testing with our software and service vendors to ensure pharmacies within our network can send and receive compliant transactions.
