When will a guinea pig be ready to give birth?
Holy cow! You ended up with not one, but TWO, preggo piggies?? Bless your heart! A lot of people would have taken them back. I hope you are able to keep the babies or find stable, loving homes for them. My only fear is that the girls are too old to give birth. Do you have any idea how old they are? If they are over eight months of age, you may need to consult an exotics vet for advice. It might not be a bad idea to take the girls in for a checkup now so that if you have any problems, you’ll already be an established patient of a vet & could get in quickly if you need to. If these are young piggies, you needn’t worry too much, but there is always a chance there may be a complication. Be prepared for that.
