When White Americans are racist to African – Americans, do they see African-Americans as Americans?

The label “African American” is so forced and contrived as to be ridiculous. Most blacks in the US have never had anything to do with Africa; they are Americans, plain and simple. Why they would be then called “African” is beyond me; they are not African, they are American. I would suspect that very few blacks in America relate more to Africa than America.
