When was yankee stadium built?
Construction on the new Yankee Stadium began in 2006 and was completed in April of 2009. It is a state of the art facility built in the Bronx borough of New York. It is situated right across the street from the previous Yankee Stadium which was completed in 1923. The design and architecture of the new stadium was heavily influenced by the previous stadium. The new stadium cost a stunning $1.5 billion to build and can seat nearly 51,000 fans. However, the high cost of the stadium and the use of public funds to build it was very controversial.
