When Was Whitesnake Formed?
Whitesnake is a Hard Rock band that was mainly active 1980s. It was formed in 1978 by vocalist David Coverdale (formerly of Deep Purple fame), after he released two solo records, David Coverdale’s Whitesnake (1976) and Northwinds (1977). During early years of the band, its music was mostly blues-oriented hard rock. The band’s early recordings were very a hit in Europe, with songs ‘Fool for Your Loving’ and ‘Don’t Break My Heart Again’ (B/W Child Of Babylon) making its way into the UK charts. Some of the most famous musicians who have joined the band for a time were Jon Lord and Ian Paice (of Deep Purple), Cozy Powell and Neil Murray and many other guitarists over the years, including, apart from Marsden and Moody, John Sykes, Adrian Vandenberg, Vivian Campbell and Steve Vai.
