When was the united states constitution formed?
The U.S Constitution was born after the Articles of Confederations, the document that had been serving as the U.S first constitution, was considered to be inefficient and problematic. Therefore in a meeting in 1787 called the Philadelphia Convention now commonly known as the Constitutional Convention, the defining document of America emerged ‘The Constitution of the United States of America’. The completion of U.S Constitution occurred on September 17th 1787. Before the Constitution could go into practice it needed to be ratified/confirmed by nine of the original 13 states, ratification was achieved in 1788 .The Constitution went into “full” practice with the swearing into office of the first President George Washington and Vice President John Adams on April 30th 1789. The Constitution was not just seen as a rewrite of the Articles of Confederations however a new form of government.
