When was the Poreporena Highway opened in Port Moresby?
It was opened on the 7th of April 1998 at a cost of K118 million by Curtain Brothers, Australia. A safety audit identified 63 faults in the unopened road, which stretches from Seven-Mile to Town (Port Moresby). It was estimated at the time that the faults would cost another K10 million to fix. Some of them have been fixed but it would appear that others are still outstanding.
