On May 4, 1988 there were a series of explosions at the Pacific Engineering & Construction Company (Pepcon). The first three explosions occurred at 11:50 a.m., followed by a number of smaller explosions. Pepcon manufactured chemicals and supplied rocket fuel for the space shuttle systems.
