When was the last 15 round boxing match for a world title?
Im not 100% sure if it was the very last 15 rounder but when Deuk Koo Kim fought Ray “Boom Boom” Mancini in the early 80s and died from his injurys the WBC immeadiately changed from 15 to 12 rounds for Championship bouts, the others followed suit but im not sure how quickly there may have been a few more before all of the sanctioning bodies agreed that 12 rounds was the way to go. I did a quick search and found that the last 15 round world title fight was actually fought as late as 29th August 1988 and it was sanctioned by the IBF it was a Strawweight fight between Samuth Sithnaruepol and In-Kyu Hwang. Samuth won a Unanimous Decision. The fight took place in Bangkok, Thailand.
